Metamorphosis through Toastmasters

As a kid, I played with paper, a makeshift mic in hand,

Dreaming of speaking to a vast crowd so grand

But when school brought forth extempore topics, a daunting task to face,

Yet deep inside, a yearning gloomed, to take the stage with grace.

Two years ago, a podcast spoke of a wonderful place

A place not for toasting bread, but where your voice find their pace.

From trembling start and scripted lines

to impromptu talks, Toastmasters led the way

Each meeting a therapy, to face the day.

"I loved how confidently you came and interacted that night"

A stranger's kind words, a big boost indeed,

Shot up my confidence, no more fear to impede.

The people I met, a forever cherished crowd,

a perfect blend of understanding, fun, kind and pure.

From formal discussions in the meeting room

to late-night giggles, my friendships grew.

From strangers to “my go to people”, treasures I found a few.

So here I stand, a better self, with Toastmasters by my side,

A journey of growth, of newfound strength, in which I take great pride.

For in this space of speaking grace, I've found my voice anew,

Toastmasters' legacy of growth and positivity, forever I pursue.
